All about twists on natural hair
I love my TWA (teeny-weeny afro)! Even more, I love my teeny-weeny twists. Twists are easy to create, style and maintain. And I’ve tried two types of twists so far.
Two-strand twists
I’ve been two-strand twisting my hair for many years and I’ve always been pleased with the end result. For me, creating twists is easy and fun. I set some movies aside to watch when I twist my hair. This is much better than sitting in front of a mirror during the whole process. Twisting my hair while watching movies is extremely relaxing – and a good way to enjoy lone time. Also, two-strand twisting is easy. Google or Youtube the topic, and you’ll see how easy it is.
When I finish my two-strand twists, I wear them in the two strands for the first week. After one week, I undo the strands and leave the twists out – and my hair still keeps the shape of the twists.
Comb/coil twists
I tried the comb/coil twists for the first time EVER this month, and I must say, it turned out very well. Unlike most people, I didn’t use any gel when I did my comb/coil twists and my hair still kept the defined shape. Also, I did my comb/coil twists on dry hair instead of damped hair.
There are tons of helpful websites and videos on just about anything when it comes to natural hair. All it takes is some research!
Here are some YouTube videos to help you learn how to do two-strand twists as well as comb/coil twists.
