Kukere master makes ladies in Edmonton go coo coo – live concert

Iyanya made a stop in Edmonton on May 5 as part of his Canadian tour with Emma Nyra. The kukere master made his lady fans do more than whine their waists.

I worked the event so I didn’t get to actually enjoy the concert. But I caught a glimpse of the star for about five minutes and it looked insane with women throwing themselves at him. It was definitely a ladies night out for sure

As for the men, not so much. I heard a few complaints that the singer was putting on a show for only the ladies, and that he wasn’t singing much but just repeating his two famous songs: kukere and your waist. Some men were saying that Iyanya got women to go on the stage for dance competitions just to kill time.

Overall fans were definitely starstruck.

The concert was one of those events that makes me realize there’s actually a large population of Nigerians/Africans living in Edmonton. And it was really nice to see everyone come together in the same venue for Iyanya. I look forward to many more African shows and events to come in Edmonton.

Iyanya’s Canadian tour kicked-off on April 26 in Toronto and he visited Calgary on May 4 before he headed next door to Edmonton.

Next event: Just 29 – Basketmouth live in Edmonton, brought to you by LZ Entertainment & Rex Entertainment.
