Going back to Nigeria–after 16 years

At this point, I’ve been living abroad for literally half of my life. I haven’t visited my home sweet home in over 16 years so you can imagine how anxious and exciting I was to make this big trip.

I had been planning my homecoming for a year and a half. When I stepped outside of the airport in Lagos, a certain aroma hit me—that’s when I knew I had arrived. I was excited, I was sad, I was exhausted from the long flights.

I’m glad everything went well, from planning the trip to the moment I landed in Nigeria to crying my eyes out when it came time to say goodbye. I’ll do a series on my recent experience in Nigeria. For now, here’s a photo journal of my trip.
