JOIN Edmonton’s first natural hair Meetup group!

nappy roots beauty on Meetup

If you’re nappily happy and would like to hang out with fellow all things healthy natural hair folks, you should definitely consider joining Nappy Roots Beauty—the first natural hair social network in Edmonton.

I’ve been living in Edmonton for almost five years now and I’ve been searching the internet regularly, looking for a group like NRB. No luck. Nothing on Meetup, Facebook was a dead end, and I didn’t come across any personal blogs or websites either. So I decided to stop being lazy and start one.

I created the group last month as a way to bring together likeminded people who share the same passion and enthusiasm for growing, caring and styling natural hair. A network we can use to socialize, share ideas and journey together. The purpose of the group is to:

  • Mingle with fellow naturalistas in the Edmonton community.
  • Share ideas, advices and tips.
  • Discuss and learn about natural hair.
  • Practice how to do hairstyles.

Sometimes it feels like I’m the only person in the city who wears their hair natural. But I’m sure there are many more people out there who also wear chemical-free healthy natural hair; and embrace and celebrate their coily, kinky, wavy, curly nApPiNeSs. Whether you’re at the “Big Chop” contemplation stage, a newbie to the natural hair club, or the go-to all things natural hair nerd/veteran, this group is for you. Even if you don’t have natural hair, this group is your support network if you are interested in learning about natural hair or have a child with natural hair.

I love creating ways to bring people together, and I can’t wait to meet the lovely folks who’ve joined the group so far at our first meet & greet on May 2.

Let’s journey together! Come share, learn and mingle with fellow friends at Nappy Roots Beauty.

  1. Glad to find your blog. Just joined the group. I’m relaxed but transitioning to natural without a BC so I have a few years to catch up 🙂 I’m not African, I’m Cuban 🙂
