Nigeria makes it to final: 2014 FIFA U-20

Woot woot!!!! That was my first reaction. The game finale is today in Montreal against Germany and I’m super stoked. These amazing young ladies continue to blow my mind. In my eyes, they’re much better than our national men’s team.

But I must confess, I haven’t been following these amazing young ladies as much as I had planned when the cup first started. A lot’s happened this summer (wedding, funeral, new job) that I fell off the 2014 FIFA U-20 bandwagon. The saddest part is that I was out of the country when Nigeria played in my city, Edmonton. I almost cried when I missed that game. My brothers went with their friends and said a lot of Nigerians came out to support the ladies. Luckily, things have settled down now just in time for me to catch the final game. I’ll be yelling and screening on top of my lungs when we play Germany today.

GOOD LUCK TO MY FALCONETS!!! No matter what happens today, I’m so proud of you and how far you’ve come. Keep putting Nigeria on the map!!!!

UPDATE: Germany 1 vs Nigeria 0 (Germany won after extra time).
